James Bake

Something New – Cuil.com

Cuil.com has been getting a bit of attention across the web. As a new search engine that claims it, “searches more pages on the Web than anyone else – three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft,” according to their About Us  section of their website.  I will say one thing, the site is pretty.  I did a search for ‘James Bake’ and found a result for the ‘Will of William Bake’ from Harrogate. An interesting to read as I’ve been increasingly interested in my family heritage after hearing my father telling my younger sister we were from America when she asked where our ancestors came from.

Comparing the same search on Google for ‘James Bake’, results of Facebook, Naymz.com, Jigsaw.com and others, Cuil.com seems to provide more resources I would use for research.

One more interesting topic to highlight is their Philosopy:

Cuil believes that:

* Size Matters
* Popularity is useful, but not always important
* Organization is fundamental
* Cuil analyzes the Web, not its users

Truly a well spoken Philosophy!

When will we start seeing advertisement opportunities?
