Friday Weekday Wrap Up: April 3, 2009

As part of my goals for this blog I want to start recapping my experiences and adventures weekly in a segment I’d liked to call “Friday Weekday Wrap Up”. I might end up changing the name depending, but for now it will do the trick. For the past few years I have, for the most part, written down reflections from the prior week. These reflections consisted of the everyday happenings, things I’ve learned, things I wanted to improve upon, future goals, random thoughts, ect. I wrote them all in a neat little red notebook, which as a week or so ago became full, time for a new notebook. Hence time for a new notebook and some new goals for my notebook moving forward.

Ok – enough about why I’m writing this blog and my ramblings about how I enjoy reflecting. Let’s get into the juicy bits and pieces of this past week.

This past weekend I met a small business owner in BG who engages in Social Media Marketing. I’m interested in finding out more information. She added me to Facebook on Wednesday; hopefully I’ll have more to report later.

Monday – Wednesday were bit of a blur. I spent most of my time diving into analytic data and review paid search accounts. And witnessed a cat fight! For fun I checkout a few houses for rent, I’m looking to move in the Perrysburg area but I’m not interested in paying $1,000 a month for a 2 bed room apartment, nor am I interested in competition with other people who are looking to rent a decent house. Anyone ever hear of fair housing laws? The first question should now be, where do you work and how much do you make? Red Flag! I’ve also been helping Greg look for a car. If you know anyone in or around the Toledo area who is selling a car for around $1,000 please let me know.

Turner has deflowered another stuffed animal. I feel bad throwing them away, let alone touching them. Other than his obsession with abusing his stuffed animals he’s enjoying the spring weather. So many new smells make walks a bit difficult. I swear that dog has ADD. Look something shiny!

Friday morning was spent at the 1st ever Social Media Breakfast Toledo edition. Great group of people to connect with, interesting thought provoking conversations. I might even be on the news today. Which sitting at the breakfast listening to the audience ask the panel questions I was thinking about the big pictures. Search is the gate way to everything online. Search is how people find “things”, companies products, people, applications, websites, information, everything. It is important to maintain an active knowledge of SEO to maximize your online presence. People find things through search, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, all show up in search engines and even have their own search functionality on their sites. Understanding how search works can be a major advantage in planning online marketing strategies.
